The digital engineering experts of Careys Design Team sit at the forefront of our innovative approach to designing projects. This week we spoke with a member of Careys Design Team – Geotechnical Engineer, Chris Chappell – about his role, his favourite project and the future of design in construction.

We’re excited to announce that Careys Foundation will be supporting ‘Around the World at 80’, the charitable challenge in aid of Alzheimer’s Society, the UK’s leading dementia support and research charity. Celebrating their upcoming 80th birthdays, Jim and Dot Jones will circumnavigate the globe this spring. They will cross an impressive span of 20 countries in a single engine aircraft.

Careys has been awarded the prestigious BIM Level 2 accreditation by the British Standards Institution (BSI). This certification acknowledges our ability to successfully use Building Information Modelling (BIM) to deliver – in our capacity as principal contractor or sub-contractor – a wide range of civil engineering and design and build projects, across commercial, residential and public sectors.

On Saturday 26th January 2019, Careys Civil Engineering Project Manager, David Moriarty, will attempt to conquer Argentina’s Mt Aconcagua – the highest mountain in both the Southern and Western Hemispheres. David will take on the 26-day challenge to scale this 6,960m mountain in support of Evelina London Children’s Hospital.

Careys is helping to transform the face of Battersea, London by contributing to the monumental One Nine Elms project. We are delivering substructure works for the development’s 43-storey River Tower and 56-storey City Tower, due to become one of the tallest residential skyscrapers in Europe.

Yesterday, Careys Plant & Fleet won in the ‘Safety’ category at the What Van? 2019 awards, which was held at the Brewery in London.

Our long-standing Careys head office in Wembley, London holds profound history. We first opened the doors to this office – Carey House – in 1988. It was, and is now, a testament to the hard work and dedication instilled in the Carey Group by our three founders.
