In celebration of our 50th anniversary this year, Careys Foundation has set our biggest charitable cycling challenge yet – both in terms of mileage and fundraising.

Careys is playing a critical role in the construction of Woodsmith Mine, acting as principal contractor on the early building phases of the mine’s main shafts.

At Careys, we are committed to consistently delivering projects of the highest standards, while simultaneously taking the utmost care of the health and safety of everyone on our sites.

As part of Careys’ role as principal contractor for the initial phases of the ambitious North Yorkshire polyhalite project near Whitby, North Yorkshire, worth over £3.2bn, we have adopted a number of innovative techniques. These will help us to most effectively, efficiently and safely construct several of the mine’s most complex and vital components.

Careys Civil Engineering has reached a key milestone on the Marble Arch Place project – with our recent completion of the slip form operations on the development’s two concrete cores.

Careys Civil Engineering has reached yet another milestone on the One Nine Elms project in Wandsworth, London, with our recent successful installation of two massive transfer beams.

This year marks Careys’ 50th anniversary. The attainment of this significant milestone – and the amazing growth that we’ve experienced over the past five decades – would have been hard to predict back in 1969, when our three founders first established the company.

It is largely through the hard work and dedication of our employees that Careys is able to continue to achieve our business aims and objectives, maintain our strong culture and consistently deliver successful projects that live up to our high standards.

In an example of our ongoing commitment to attract, develop and train emerging talent – last week, Careys Civil Engineering and Urban Edge Architecture joined with hosts RTS Construction Group to put on the Educational Open Day at Breckland Retail Park.

We’re thrilled to share that, earlier this month, David Moriarty, a senior planning engineer at Careys, successfully reached the summit of 6962m Mt Aconcagua – the highest mountain in both the Southern and Western Hemispheres.

As part of Careys’ ongoing commitment to giving back to the community, Careys Civil Engineering and BDL Dry Lining recently helped to complete Kettering Hospital’s new dementia garden. We transformed the former courtyard of this hospital in Northamptonshire into a bright and welcoming new garden where patients can safely relax and socialise.
