Careys were appointed to carry out earthworks, the basement box substantial reinforced concrete works and diaphragm waterproofing at AELTC’s Somerset Road facility in Wimbledon.
The redevelopment of the Somerset Road practice court complex has been on-going since August 2018. Careys have already undertaken the enabling works, which included the diversions of Thames Water sewers, construction of TX14 substation and the construction of a private drainage network, which includes an attenuation tank, harvesting tank and flow control structure which allows water to be discharged into the Thames Water sewers in a controlled outflow.
The earthworks scope includes the bulk excavation of the basement, including any necessary temporary excavations needed to complete our concrete works. Careys will also be responsible for excavating the trenches in order to complete the installation of chiller pipe works.
Concrete frame construction will be for levels 01, 02 and 03 horizontal and vertical elements, including any temporary works – including falsework, formwork, back-propping, lifting equipment and any pumping equipment that may be required – and will also include diaphragm waterproofing.
