Our Winter Driving Campaign, which is aligned with our behavioural safety initiative, Safe Home Every Day, provides advice and guidance to drivers of vehicles on how to stay safe when driving in wintery conditions.
In addition to the usual precautions for driving in wintery conditions - such as planning routes to favour major roads which are more likely to have been cleared and gritted and putting safety before punctuality when the bad weather closes in and allowing extra time for winter journeys – our guide provides hints and tips on topics that are maybe not so obvious, including:
- Antifreeze
- Snow and ice
- Headlights
- Vision
- Battery and electrics
- Tyres
With over 2,000 people injured in reported accidents on Great Britain's roads when there was snow or ice on the road surface*, it is imperative that extra care and precaution is taken by those driving any type of vehicle whilst on the road.

This campaign is just one of a number of initiatives delivered by Careys Plant & Fleet designed at promoting safer driving and encouraging people to plan ahead before they start their journey, with the aim of minimising breakdown and reducing accidents.
