Over the past 10 months Careys has been working on developing a groundworker apprenticeship with Milton Keynes College which has now been approved and will go live in September.
We have formed a strong and exciting relationship with MK College and have shared both our vision and mission in developing a robust and sustainable apprenticeship scheme. We have spent time to ensure that the work done to date is intrinsic to our five-year strategy and underpins our values and behaviours.
The delivery of the apprenticeship will be carried out from our Milton Keynes office and all practical work will be carried out with the yard area, picking up from where we started to deliver the Groundworker NVQ many years ago. Setting up this type of apprenticeship is vital to us and the industry to support the post-Covid recovery and the effects of Brexit by creating much needed opportunities within our sector for young and talented individuals to come and join an exciting sector. The facility and environment will be modern and exciting to ensure that the partnership creates a great place to work for these young students, and gives them every chance of securing a permanent position with Careys or other aligned partners the college has access to.
The Carey Group is passionate about delivering and embedding our strategy and playing our part in investing time, resources and money into supporting local educators like MK College where we can support grass roots construction and place us on the path to being the most trusted and socially responsible construction company that people are proud to work with.
